#7: A la Bonne Franquette... Gourmet-Style

Experience the essence of French comfort cuisine to be served at your home. This "Homey Gourmet" five-course dinner cannot be experienced at our local French restaurants and promises to transport you to the heart of France's terroirs.

You and seven guests will indulge in a culinary journey catered by current parent Chef Navaline Quach, a French native and former French Cooking Instructor at the Bechtel International Center at Stanford, teaming up with favorite Home Chef and Soirée du Vin co-chair Véronique Micha. The five-course meal will be expertly paired with wines by Boris Micha, our INTL wine connoisseur.
Select your party’s à la carte menu in advance, with Chef Navaline offering a variety of gourmet appetizers and main courses, ending the meal with the delectable intricacy of a Farandole of Desserts; Véronique’s focus will be delighting you with amuse-bouches and a cheese course.

Kick off the evening with a Kir Apéritif Cocktail and tantalizing savory Verrines setting the stage for an unforgettable meal.

Choose one from four delectable appetizers: Quiche Lorraine, a savory tart filled with cheese and bacon strips known as lardons; Tarte aux poireaux, a leek tart that melts in your mouth; Velouté de champignons, a creamy mushroom soup that warms the soul; or Soupe de butternut, a comforting butternut squash soup.

For the main course, savor one of four options: Agneau à la provençale, a flavorful lamb stew cooked in the Provencal style; Sauté de porc à la sauce moutarde, a pork stew in a tangy Dijon mustard sauce; Blanquette de veau, a veal stew simmered to perfection in a creamy sauce; or a Vegetarian option including ratatouille and gratin, served with a fresh green salad and Dijon vinaigrette.

Next you will dive into the unexpected flavors of a French Artisan cheese platter, before indulging your sweet tooth with the Farandole of Desserts, a French tradition of sampling different sweet treats, including: Clafoutis aux cerises, a fruity delight to brighten up your palate;  Gâteau renversé à l'ananas, an upside-down pineapple cake, soft and full of flavor; and a scrumptious chocolate mousse.

Bon appétit !
