INTL ParentEd is a parent education program for our community which offers informative talks and webinars focused on INTL’s programs or parenting practices, behaviors, and tips on raising children in today’s modern world.

    INTL ParentEd: Supporting Development, Responsibility, and Emotional Growth in Upper Elementary

    Parent Education Session with Sheri Glucoft Wong, LCSW
    For 3rd, 4th, & 5th Grade Parents

    As children move through the upper elementary years, they encounter new layers of social dynamics, expectations, and emotional complexity. We invite 3rd-5th Grade families to join us for an online parent session with Sheri Glucoft Wong focused on helping parents stay grounded, connected, and supportive while fostering responsibility, resilience, and healthy communication.

    Sheri will offer insight into the developmental needs of this age group—from managing stronger emotions to navigating peer relationships to stretching into greater independence. These tools are essential for parenting in today’s fast-changing world, and we hope you will join us in building the strong, shared “village” that helps our students flourish. RSVP HERE
    This session will also include time for parent Q&A, allowing space for your questions about supporting children in the upper elementary years.

    Please plan for at least one parent or guardian per household to attend as part of our shared commitment to partnering during this critical period.

    INTL ParentEd: The IB Diploma: The Highest Standard in University Prep

    Come learn more about the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP). The IB DP is a globally recognized, comprehensive pre-university curriculum highly valued by highly selective universities for producing well-rounded, prepared students. It moves beyond standard course work by integrating critical core elements like the Theory of Knowledge (TOK), which develops critical thinking, the Extended Essay (EE), a college-level research paper, and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), fostering personal growth and community engagement, as well as subjects in six disciplines. The DP's rigorous, interdisciplinary approach ensures graduates possess the academic rigor, research skills, and global mindset necessary not only for university acceptance but for sustained collegiate and lifelong success.     INTL ParentEd: Understanding Student Services at INTL - Supporting All Learners

    Join INTL’s Student Services Team for an introductory parent education session designed to help families better understand who we are, what we do, and how we support all students across the school.

    This session will provide a high-level overview of our approach to inclusion, belonging, and learning support, grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Tier 1 practices. We will also touch on developmental milestones, share guidance on how families can support inclusive conversations at home, and offer practical tools parents can use to support their children’s learning and development.     This session is open to all parents who would like a clearer picture of how Student Services supports students, teachers, and families.

    Parents are also warmly encouraged to submit questions in advance via the registration form to help guide the session and ensure shared questions are addressed.

    Village Book Club: Raising Kids – 2nd Session

    The Village Book Club
    Following our partnership with Sheri Glucoft Wong, we are excited to launch the Village Book Club. We invite you to join this supportive community as we use Sheri’s book, Raising Kids, as a roadmap to navigate the daily joys and challenges of parenting. Elementary Principal, Liz Evans will lead this community book club. 

    This series is designed as a peer-led space where we can support one another in applying Sheri’s tools for Clarity, Communication, and Consistency. 

    All sessions will take place in Cohn’s Media Hub from 8:30-9:30am.

    Please park at Geng Road. Coffee & Pastries will be provided

    For 12th Grade Parents
    Your student has spent four years developing the academic chops to succeed in college. Soon, they’ll be on their own - structuring their own schedule, balancing assignments and navigating social and extracurricular activities.  Nearly all freshman experience overwhelm at some point facing these new expectations. With a focus on essential executive function skills, learning specialists from the Schwab Learning Center at CHC will instruct parents of high school seniors how to prepare their students for the big leap to college and independence.  
     
    This hands-on workshop is open to 50 Common Ground members who are parents of seniors. A $30 registration fee is required to hold your seat and will be reimbursed after check-in. RSVP Here.
