Anna Hertel

2026-2027 is Anna’s first year serving on the Board. She serves both the Development and the Investments Committees. Anna has one daughter in the school’s German program, entering 1st Grade. Anna is a psychotherapist-in-training completing her clinical practicum at Process Therapy Institute in the San José area, where she works with individual adult clients. She is pursuing her graduate degree in clinical counseling at Saybrook University on the path to licensure as an LPCC in California. Anna is also a published author — her memoir Brick by Brick, endorsed by Dr. Bruce Perry and world-class Ironman athlete Chrissie Wellington, bridges personal narrative with evidence-based insights on healing and recovery. She holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction and is herself a former Ironman triathlete. Born in Germany, Anna moved to the United States and attended Atlanta International School for grades 6 through 12, where she experienced firsthand the lasting impact of an international education. That foundation shapes her deep appreciation for INTL’s multilingual mission and its commitment to raising globally minded, culturally fluent young people. She looks forward to contributing to the school community as her daughter begins her own journey in the German Program.
