Silicon Valley International School experienced another year of strong community engagement and fundraising success during the 2025-2026 academic year. The generosity and involvement of our community continued to make a meaningful impact across the school.

INTL parents, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends came together through giving, volunteering, and community events, demonstrating their shared commitment to our students and the future of INTL.

More than 60 parent and teacher volunteers took on the responsibility of peer-to-peer fundraising in their child’s class. Being an Annual Fund Champion is one of the more challenging volunteering roles, and most rewarding.

Each year, Silicon Valley International School hosts Soirée du Vin, an elegant wine auction that brings together members of the INTL community for an evening of exceptional wine, great company, and celebration.
 
Soirée du Vin has become a beloved INTL tradition, bringing together current parents, alumni, alumni parents, faculty, and friends of the school.

The 2025 Soirée du Vin was a wonderful celebration of 20 years of this beloved INTL tradition. This year’s Liquid Gold theme set the stage for a memorable evening at Fremont Hills Country Club, where more than 100 guests enjoyed exceptional wines, a gourmet dinner, and a lively auction.
 
We were delighted to welcome Pooja Gorthy, founder of Calligraphy Wines, as our guest speaker. This year was also particularly special as INTL faculty joined the celebration for the first time in Soirée du Vin’s history.
 
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this milestone evening so memorable. We look forward to raising a glass together again next year!

The net profit from the event raised $75,727 for INTL's Charlotte de Géry Endowment Fund, which will go toward ensuring that INTL is able to continue its mission of academic excellence indefinitely.

The 2026 Annual Gala and Auction brought the vibrant culture and energy of Brazil to life with this year’s theme, Samba!. 188 guests gathered at the Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club for a colorful evening filled with great company, lively entertainment, and a shared celebration of the INTL community.
 
This year’s Gala could not have happened without the support and leadership of Gala Chair Reza Afkhami, who took to the stage to share his perspective on INTL and the importance of our community. Head of School Barbara Greiner also recognized a special table of INTL alumni parents, including school founder Charlotte de Géry, who celebrated her 100th birthday this year.
 
The evening came to life with an electrifying performance by Samba dancers, who soon had guests joining them on the dance floor. Another highlight was the presentation of the Spirit of INTL Award to alumna Mandy Korphi.

Fund-a-Need

One of the evening’s most impactful moments was the Fund-a-Need initiative, which raised an extraordinary $435,825 to enhance learning environments across all three divisions of the school.
 
The funds will support meaningful improvements across both campuses, including new learning materials for Early Years, a redesigned art classroom for Elementary School, and upgraded gym facilities for Upper School, including new wooden flooring and LED lighting. These enhancements will create inspiring spaces where students can learn, create, play, and thrive.

CHARLOTTE DE GÉRY ENDOWMENT FUND

Purpose
Supports Faculty, Technology, and Environmental Programs. Named after our school’s founder, the Charlotte de Géry Endowment Fund is dedicated towards her vision for the bilingual and bicultural student of the 21st century. Contributions to the Charlotte de Géry Endowment Fund are unrestricted funds and are used to build a strong financial foundation for our school.
FINANCIAL AID ENDOWMENT FUND 
20 Donors this year. $66,184 increase this year.
Total Value: $934,094 (as of June 30, 2026) 
 
Purpose
Provides financial assistance to families. Financial Aid Endowment will support our Financial Aid pool, which will help families who would otherwise not be able to pay the full cost of their children’s education. 
 
All 8th and 12th-grade departing families are asked to give to this fund, in lieu of the Annual Fund.
ART ENDOWMENT FUND
2 Donors this year. $4,000 increase this year. 
Total Value: $118,047 (as of June 30, 2026) 
 
Purpose
Provides for Visual and Performing Arts. While other schools are cutting their arts programs, we wish to continue to provide our students with the opportunity to look inward and express themselves through creative avenues. Contributions to the Arts Endowment are restricted funds and are used only to enhance the arts education program of INTL students.
ARTHUR B. FRANCIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Total Value: $205,663 (as of June 30, 2026)
 
Purpose
The Arthur B. Francis Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in loving memory of alumni parent Sabrina H.’s father, Arthur. Sabrina’s family established the scholarship fund in 2013 to assist in the retention of current INTL students from elementary into middle school. Arthur’s belief of cultural immersion continues to live on by supporting one student each year.

ENDOWMENT RELEASE
The Finance Committee of the Board of Directors approved the release of earnings from the School's Endowment Funds supporting the Arts, Financial Aid, and Operations of the School.  
 
The amount released was approximately $447,362.

The Strategic Growth Initiative (SGI) is an unrestricted fundraising campaign created to facilitate an increase in cash, allowing Silicon Valley International School to increase its cash position for future growth initiatives, whether for debt acquisition or facilities improvements.
 

2026 INTL alumni award

The 2026 Spirit of INTL Award was presented to alumna Mandy Korphi, a member of INTL’s first middle school graduating class who is now an INTL parent, Board Director, and dedicated volunteer. Her story was a wonderful reflection of the lasting impact of an INTL education and the strength of our community across generations.

INTL continued to add to its strategic operating reserves by releasing restricted funds from its endowments, from investment earnings returns, and from direct contributions to the Strategic Growth Initiative.
 
Operating income exceeded expenses for the 2025-26 fiscal year, driven by strong philanthropic support from the INTL community, positive enrollment, and solid investment returns. Program expenses increased in line with expectations, driven by costs tied to educational programs and faculty and staff compensation. Operating income for the 2025-26 fiscal year came in above original expectations.
 
Compensation is our largest expense, commanding 74% of the total expenses, followed by our facilities & IT, utilizing 15% of our resources. With our mission in mind, we hire the best faculty and staff so we can deliver our rigorous programs; empowering our students to embrace complexity, think critically from multiple perspectives, and demonstrate integrity and sensitivity across cultures.
 
The 2025-2026 financial statements of Silicon Valley International School were audited by Hood & Strong, independent Certified Public Accountants. Complete financial statements will be available upon request from the school’s Chief Financial Officer, Erik Paxman, once the Board has reviewed and approved the audited financial statements.
