Silicon Valley International School experienced a year of remarkable success during the 2024-2025 academic year as we celebrated our 45th anniversary. We saw significant growth in both community support and overall fundraising.

INTL’s community of parents, students, faculty, and staff rallied together through events, volunteering, and fundraising efforts, strengthening the school in meaningful ways.

We are deeply grateful to all the donors, volunteers, and supporters who made these achievements possible.

annual fund

team

More than 60 parent and teacher volunteers took on the responsibility of peer-to-peer fundraising in their child’s class. Being an Annual Fund Champion is one of the more challenging volunteering roles, and most rewarding.

soirée du vin wine auction

The 2024 Soirée du Vin welcomed 107 attendees and featured a unique 31 auction lots. The evening began with a phenomenal wine-tasting hour, followed by a gourmet wine-paired dinner, and concluded with a thrilling live auction. In honor of INTL’s 45th anniversary, the community raised their glasses in cheers and applause to celebrate this special milestone.

A special thank-you goes to our 2024 guest speakers, Sam Lando of Lando Winery.

Thank You for an Amazing Soirée du Vin!

The 2024 Soirée du Vin was a resounding success, once again showcasing INTL’s tight-knit community and our shared passion for both wine and education. The theme, Aged to Perfection, artfully intertwined the maturation of fine wine with the celebration of the school’s 45 years of excellence.

Thank you to everyone for supporting our school and coming to Soirée du Vin, and for those who couldn’t make it, we look forward to seeing you on September 28, 2025, for another magnificent evening!

impact

The live auction raised $68,268 for INTL's Charlotte de Géry Endowment Fund, which will go towards ensuring that INTL is able to continue its mission of academic excellence indefinitely. On top of that, a gracious $21,601 was raised by the eventgoers for Fund-the-Future.

annual gala + auction

team

The 2025 Annual Gala and Auction’s theme was A Sapphire Affair. Over 200 elegantly dressed guests gathered to celebrate Silicon Valley International School’s 45th anniversary, enjoying a sparkling Champagne welcome, lively entertainment, and a delicious 3-course dinner.

This year’s Gala could not have happened without the support of this year’s Co-Chairs, Vivian Chen and Zack Hou, who took to the stage with their own perspectives on what they value about INTL. This year represented an important milestone for INTL, with our two co-chairs bringing together the deep commitment of parents whose three children have thrived under INTL’s bilingual and multicultural curriculum.

The evening featured an electric performance by INTL’s student band, followed by a special appearance and speech by former Head of School Philippe Dietz, whose more than 20 years of visionary leadership shaped INTL into the thriving institution it is today. A moving film tribute honored INTL’s very first graduating class of 1979, celebrating the pioneering students who laid the foundation for 45 years of excellence.

Fund-a-Need

One of the evening’s most impactful moments was the Fund-a-Need initiative, which raised $311,122 to support social-emotional learning (SEL) in classrooms. The funds will help create an environment where students feel supported and understood while strengthening collaboration between parents and teachers to foster both emotional well-being and academic success.

impact

With the help of generous donors, bidders, and volunteers, the event raised over $116,085 plus an additional $311,122 for Fund-a-Need.

with appreciation

Thank you so much to all our wonderful volunteers. Our school volunteers are always there to support INTL — and our school would not be as vibrant without your hard work and kindness.

All the faculty, staff, and students thank you for your dedication, time, and commitment!

financial information*

INTL continued to add to its strategic operating reserves by releasing restricted funds from its endowments, from the return of investment earnings, and a from direct contributions to the Strategic Growth Initiative.

Operating income exceeded expenses for the 2024-25 fiscal year, aided by greater-than-expected returns on unrestricted investments. Program expenses increased in line with expectations and were driven by expenses tied to the educational programs and faculty and staff compensation. Operating income came in above original expectations for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

Compensation is our largest expense, commanding 75% of the total expenses, followed by our facilities & IT, utilizing 14% of our resources. With our mission in mind, we hire the best faculty and staff so we can deliver our rigorous programs; empowering our students to embrace complexity, think critically from multiple perspectives, and demonstrate integrity and sensitivity across cultures.

The 2024-2025 financial statements of Silicon Valley International School were audited by Armanino LLP, independent Certified Public Accountants. Complete financial statements will be available upon request from the school’s Chief Financial Officer, Erik Paxman, once the Board has reviewed and approved the audited financial statements.
