  • Chinese Elementary School Homeroom Teacher (PYP)

    Summary of the Position

    Silicon Valley International School (INTL) seeks a Chinese Elementary School Homeroom Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Teachers at INTL develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives to help inspire a foundational love for learning. They facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students and by organizing learning resources and the classroom-learning environment. They develop and foster the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of children, according to age, ability, and aptitude. They link students' knowledge to earlier learning and develop ways to encourage it further.  Primary Years Programme (PYP) teachers challenge and inspire students to help them deepen their knowledge and understanding.  

    The Chinese Elementary School Homeroom Teacher must demonstrate commitment to INTL’s mission and the population we serve, as well as be experienced with teaching at the Elementary School level.     Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree and minimum 2 years teaching experience required; master's degree and minimum 5 years teaching experience preferred

    Summary of the Position
    Silicon Valley International School (INTL) is an International Baccalaureate (IB) bilingual school (PYP, MYP, DP) dedicated to fostering a vibrant learning environment across our two campuses.     Position Overview:
    The French Librarian will be instrumental in enhancing our Media Hub at the Elementary School campus and transforming the library at the Upper School & Early Years campus into dynamic, welcoming spaces that become the heartbeat of the school. This role is essential for cultivating an environment where students are excited to explore, engage, and ?nd joy in reading and research.
    Key Responsibilities:
    Transformative Leadership
    1. Lead the revitalization of the Media Hub and Upper School Library, ensuring these spaces are warm, inviting, and designed to encourage student participation and exploration.

    Innovative Program Development

    Lead Researcher
    1. Support students from start to ?nish with their research tasks through:
    1. An outstanding knowledge of online and local resources, including but not limited to the Peninsula Public Library System physical and digital collections
    2. Excellent understanding of research methodologies and Research as an Approach to Learning Skill
    1. Support faculty with research about approaches to teaching and learning and subject speci?c content.
    2. Lead the development and implementation of the school’s Research and Media Literacy curriculum that supports inquiry, critical thinking, and research excellence, in collaboration with IB Coordinators.
     
    Qualifications
     
    • Master’s degree in library science, Information Science, or a related ?eld preferred
    • Fluent in English and French with exceptional communication skills in both languages preferred.
    • Proven experience in a library or educational setting, with demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
    • Strong understanding of the IB curriculum and a fervent commitment to promoting literacy and research skills.

  • Upper School Teacher: IB Individuals and Societies in French

    Job Summary

    Silicon Valley International School (INTL) seeks an Upper School Teacher to join our French teaching team for the 2026-2027 academic year. The role is primarily teaching IB Individuals and Societies (MYP Histoire-Geographie and DP Geographie, or Histoire, depending on experience) in High School. It will also include teaching one section of French Language and Literature in Middle School. 

    Teachers at INTL develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with IB Middle Years and Diploma Programme curricular frameworks and objectives. They facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students and by organizing learning resources and the classroom-learning environment. They develop and foster the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of children, according to age, ability, and aptitude. They link students' knowledge to earlier learning and develop ways to encourage it further. They challenge and inspire students to help them deepen their knowledge and understanding. 

    The Individuals and Societies Teacher must demonstrate commitment to INTL’s mission and the population we serve, as well as be experienced with teaching at the Middle and High School level. They must also be responsible, self-motivated, friendly, willing to work with a team of colleagues, and be accepting and adaptable to a working environment with different cultures. 

    The position involves teaching through inquiry according to the MYP and DP frameworks, while also ensuring necessary skill acquisition and collaborating extensively. Time for collaboration with the other teachers is built into the schedule.     Typical work activities include: 
    • Teaching all areas of the MYP and DP curriculum as designated (in subject area as well as interdisciplinary units) 
    • Following the guidelines and mission of INTL and IB, in Middle and High School, and the French Ministry of Education programs in Middle School. 
    • Organizing the classroom and learning resources to create a positive learning environment 
    • Planning, preparing, and presenting lessons that differentiate for the needs of the ability range and levels within the class 
    • Designing units integrating the elements of the MYP and DP curricular frameworks and informed by assessment 
    • Motivating students with enthusiastic, imaginative presentations/engagements and respectful interactions, in addition to managing student behavior and maintaining discipline 
    • Preparing, documenting, evaluating, and communicating to facilitate positive student development 
    • Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of students' development 
    • Providing feedback to parents on the student's progress at parents' conferences, other (often less formal) meetings, and report cards 
    • Collaborating with others to plan and coordinate work, liaising with colleagues, and working ?exibly 
    • Staying up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the national and international curricula 
    • Occasionally taking part in school events and activities that can be run at weekends or evenings outside of working hours 
    • Planning and participating in ?eld trips 
    • Leading an Advisory group and/or offering student clubs

  • Substitute Teacher (German, French, Mandarin and English Speakers) Pre-K to 12th

    Silicon Valley International School [INTL] seeks variable-hour substitute teachers for its elementary, middle, and early years programs, beginning immediately. We seek substitute teachers who are native speakers and literate in French, Mandarin, German, or English.

    It should be noted that the requirement for a substitute teacher may vary on a day-to-day basis, depending on the school's operational needs. However, the school administration will make every effort to provide advanced notification if such a need arises. This arrangement is aimed at ensuring a seamless educational experience for the students.

    Qualifications: 
    • University degree 
    • Experience teaching grade school children 
    • Native/literate in French, German, Mandarin, or English

    Compensation: 
    The hourly rate for this position is $33.00; however, it does not include any benefits. Please note that this is not a contractual position, and we cannot guarantee any minimum number of hours.
