INTL ParentEd: The Gift of Failure (Upper Elementary Families)

The Gift of Failure: Upper Elementary School Edition
Zoom Webinar | 3rd-5th Grade
As children grow, learning when to step in—and when to step back—is an important part of helping them become confident and capable learners. This session will share practical strategies for allowing children to make mistakes, solve problems, and take greater ownership of their learning. Together, we’ll explore how these everyday opportunities build motivation, resilience, competence, and self-efficacy. RSVP Here
Following the success of our parent education work with Sheri Glucoft Wong last year, we are pleased to continue our commitment to meaningful partnership with families by welcoming Jessica Lahey to INTL this year.

Jessica is a veteran teacher, education journalist, and New York Times bestselling author of The Gift of Failure: How the Best Parents Learn to Let Go So Their Children Can Succeed. She is also the author of The Addiction Inoculation: Raising Healthy Kids in a Culture of Dependence. Her work draws on research and decades of experience with children, families, and educators to explore motivation, independence, resilience, and the vital role that mistakes and setbacks play in learning.

Jessica will join us for a series of developmentally focused parent sessions exploring how we can help children become more motivated, resilient, independent, and capable by learning when to step in—and when to step back. Please note her work is geared towards parents with students in 3rd Grade and up.

We will also reserve time for parent Q&A.

At least one parent/guardian per household is encouraged to attend.
